Beaconsfield Pool House
A carefully integrated pool building and family leisure space designed to sit naturally within a wider residential setting. The project balances architectural presence, privacy, light and day-to-day use without tipping into showy garden architecture.
Pool buildings are easy to overdesign. The challenge here was to produce something generous and calm that belonged to the house and landscape rather than competing with them.
The work combines planning sensitivity with practical family use, allowing the building to function as a leisure space while still reading as a settled part of the overall residential composition.
The brief
To create a pool building that felt deliberate and substantial, but also properly tied into the house, garden and wider setting.
The response
REA treated the project as part of the architecture of the whole property, not as a decorative afterthought. Light, levels, outlook and internal atmosphere were developed together.
Outcome
A leisure building with a calm, premium character that supports the house and landscape rather than shouting over them.
